The Rustlings
This project was a little different to our usual work. The customer wanted something completely bespoke, using a rigging wire system, to suit their stunning Devon beachside property with famous views over South Sands, Salcombe.
Our Approach
We worked closely with the whole family to bring the final design to life, which we call ‘The Blade’ system.
The structure was crafted from laser-cut 316 grade stainless steel, with holes designed specifically for our rigging wire system.
All handrails and the gate were fully welded onsite, during a scorching week in July, so the team got a bit sunburnt!
Luckily, the customers kept spirits high by providing ice creams and refreshments.
With the property overlooking one of Devon’s most beautiful beaches, it made for a truly memorable project.
The Challenges
- Large-scale installation: Fitting two extensive balustrades while keeping costs down, without compromising on style or uniqueness.
- Existing glass balustrade removal: The property had damaged glass panels that needed careful removal and disposal. This left a long channel in the ground, which had to be factored into the new design.
- Completely new system: Using our CAD technology, we designed custom posts to fit the channel perfectly, creating a one-of-a-kind balustrade system with posts that are entirly unique!
The Result?
The Blade system is entirely bespoke, blending style, function, and innovation.
The combination of stainless steel and rigging wire creates a sleek, modern look that maximises the property’s spectacular beach views.
Most importantly, the family loved the finished design, and it’s truly unlike anything else out there. .
